Final Word From Me

Firstly I would just like to say a huge thank you to Alfie for having the courage to tell his story to me. This was at times really tough for Alfie to tell, there were tears, but most of all we have had some laughs.

Over a few short weeks I have seen Alfie become more confident but also more understanding of his Mum, his Dad and also of his own situation.

I have always thought of myself as a highly motivated person, but Alfie has really given me the inspiration to move Kids of Heroes forward in a positive way. I have never felt so passionate about anything in my life as I do now after writing this.

I would also like to say thanks to Alfies Mum Hayley, from the outset of this she made it clear that where Alfie was concerned nothing was off limits as to what he might say. That is a tough call for a parent, how many of us would want our kids spilling the beans about our home life.

The holiday we sent Alfie, Chloe and Hayley on was the least we could do after such a brave story.

I have tried my best to write exactly as Alfie told his story, I only hope I have done it justice.

Please remember, this story in no way is a criticism of what any of our Armed Forces are doing for people such as Glenn. We know that the support network is fantastic and that these services are excellent.

We just wanted to highlight that sometimes people like Glenn fall through the cracks, it happens. But this wasn’t really about Glen or Hayley, it was about Alfie.

Who is going to it up and take note of the Alfies in this World, with your help we all will and we can do something to help kids like Alfie. We are more than happy to work with other charities to find the right support, we are here to help the kids of our heroic armed forces, both today, yesterday and tomorrow.

My final tug at your emotions. If you want to help a child like Alfie take a good look in the mirror and decide what you want to do. Nobody is forcing you, it’s your call, make it a good one. Then take another look in the mirror, you’ll see a better person.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read Alfies Story

Thank you so much for our amazing and inspiring Armed Forces, we are forever in your debt.

Andy
